98 Ford Contour has problems after Timing Chain was Replaced

I have a 98 Ford Contour with about 63,000 miles. The timing chain broke on the car due to a bad pully. I replaced all the pullies, timining chain and spark plugs. However, I did not change the plug wires. The car appears to warm up fine, has a smooth idle but when on a incline it appears to chug sometimes and the check engine light comes on. Before the timing belt went, I thought I had a dirty fuel filter. I wonder if it has a bad oxygen sensor. Anyone have any clues?

Have the codes read and post the numbers and descriptions of them and we can advise from there.Autozone offers this as a free service so you could go there just don't buy anything yet.

Autozone Diagnostic

The engine computer\check engine light is not reporting an error code. It is reporting cyclinder 3 is misfiring. I'm hoping that it is a bad plug or wire not a bent valve.

The car has been sitting for a couple of months. It started up fine, warmed it up and it was rough. After it was fully warmed up it seemed to be fine.

It might be a bad plug wire. Make sure the one on #3 is seated well on both ends of it. If so, you may as well replace them all but start with just the one for cylinder #3. Replace the plug also, if you want to try that while you're at it.
