infiniti j30 power window problem

my driver's side power window rolls down but won't go up. i replaced the window regulator as this was the cheapest option.no help. the dealer wants $450 for a new motor. i pulled the motor assembly apart. the motor appears to be fine but the power is transferred to a plastic gear assembly which may be the problem. without the weight of the window, the regulator moves up and down, but with the window attached, the motor will not push up the window. sounds like an air hammer. thanks

You will have to replace the motor as the gear will most likely not be available separately. The price does seem a little high though have you tried to buy one somewhere else like an auto parts store?

search e-Bay for (window gear).
Its hard to believe but theirs a good selection of new gear units for $12.00
Look at the pictures most cars use the same gear units.
e-mail the seller.

I found a new gear assembly on e-Bay for a dodge for $12.00
the dealer wanted $75.00

ended up buying 3 plastic roller pins for $5.00 to repair the gear unit. e-Bay
