1999 ford taurus 3.0 overheating

I have a 1999 ford taurus 3.0 liter station wagon. It alternates between overheating and the heater core blocked. I have back flushed the core and flushed the engine. This out came rust sediment and everything was fine for a time. Then it began all over again I have replaced the cap and belt as well. I have repeated the flushing and it was fine again for a time. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

You could try flushing with a chemical and neutralizer kit. Then when you are done refill with fresh coolant, distilled water and corrosion inhibitor, don't use tap water as it contains chemicals and minerals that will lead to further corrosion.
