1993 Lincoln-trunk Pull Down

I Have A 1993 Lincoln, The Trunk Pull Down Motor Is Shot. A New One Cost Over $300. Does Any One Know What Other Years Or Models Would Work? Also The Car Was Bought Used And We Did Not Get A Trunk Key( But I Did Find A Key That Will Open The Door, But It Wont Start The Car And I Cant Seem To Get It In The Trunk Key Hole. Could We Take Out The Whole Works And Replace It From One Of The Many Junked Insurance Cars We Have Sitting Around? I Am Married To A Mechanic May Have To Repair It Myself.

...the striker bolts on, you could just do away with it altogether by removing the pulldown assy and replacing it with the striker from another vehicle. a preowned parts dealer (junk yard) can tell you for sure if a pulldown from another vehicle will work. i know that the one on my 93 cadillac is the same...as far back as the 70's...when i started doing this stuff...
