check engine light
I have a 94 plymouth grand voyager, 3.3 litre, V6. The check engine light comes on only when I drive above 55 mph for more than approximately five minutes. It remains on until the engine is turned off and on again (length of time between turning off the engine and then back on makes no difference - I can switch off and then right back on and the light will be cleared).
After cycling the engine, I can drive without the light coming back on until I again exceed 55 for more than five minutes.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

you need to have codes read to determine what fault code the computer is setting, you can take it to a shop to have the codes scanned and diagnosed. or some parts stores such as autozone do scan codes on some models.
or you can cycle the key on and off 3 times leaving the ignition on the last cycle and count the check engine light flashes starting with a code 12 and ending with a 55 any codes flashed in between will be the fault codes, this method is sometimes difficult to interpit and some models dont always flash a 12 before starting to flash fault codes.
egr assemblies commonly fail on this model as does o2 sensors and more than likely one of the above is likely causing the check engine light to come on based on your description but you will need to check codes for starters.

thanks bejay - I'll give it a try. I'm not sure what an "egr" assembly is?
I know Autozone reads codes, but we don't have one of those around here - does Schucks read codes?
Thanks again!

The best thing you can do is take it to a competent shop to have true diagnostics done on it. Thats the only way you are for certain going to know what the light is on for. It shouldnt cost you more than an hours labor to diagnose properly. Then the task of what to do about it comes into play. You can have them fix it for you or for your diagnostic fee they can tell you what it needs and you can do it yourself.
Hope this helps ya,

check engine light
This is a continuance from my earlier post regarding the check engine light on my 94 Plymouth Grand Voyager.
The fault code is 123255. Is there a way to find out what this means?
Thanks!

You don't list an engine size but it looks like you have a code 32 which is most likely an EGR problem. The code definition varies from engine to engine but not very specific.

code 32 does indicate an egr system fault and is a common problem.
and to answer your question on your other post egr stands for exhuast gas recirculation and if you decide to replace it I would suggest you use a mopar oem part most dealers keep them in stock.
the egr assembly consist of the egr valve and the vacum solenoid and it is located just behind the throttle body part of the intake, is bolted on with 2 bolts.
