95 Chevy Lumina - car heater works poorly

My trusty Lumina with 140,000 miles drives well and I have experienced hardly any problems with it. But the interior heater doesn't work like it used to. It doesn't get as warm as it used to and it takes much longer to warm up the interior of the car. This is especially a problem when it gets really cold. The car never really gets warm. I can remember when the heater was working properly that my feet would get so hot I would have to turn the heat off. Now I can hardly feel heat on my feet when I chose that selection. Any ideas?

Heat

Check the coolant level at the radiator. If it's full, change the engine thermostat.

91 chevy lumina van no heat

To :BIBBUS
I ALSO HAVE A 91 LUMINA VAN 150,000 MILES WITH HEATER PROBLEMS.
CHECKED EVERYTHINGF I CAN THINK OF.
PUT IN A NEW HEATER CORE, NEW THERMASTAT, AND BLEW OUT AC CORE
NO CHANGE . GOOD VAN BUT NO HEAT, OR VERY LITTLE.
THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAID IT HEATED GOOD WHEN HE HAD IT!!!

FOUND ANOTHER 91 VAN ,WITH 132,000 ,ON A LOT ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK TONIGHT.
STARTED IT UP ,LET IT WARM UP AND IT ALSO WOULD NOT HEAT.
CHECKED THE LOG AND THE OWNER JUST CHANGED THE HEATER CORE,
THERMASTAT, AND TEMP GUAGE BEFORE HE PUT IT UP FOR SALE.
SOUNDS LIKE GM HAS A PROBLEM THAT THE ARE NOT FESSING UP TO.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND A SOUTION. AND I WILL DO THE SAME.
THANKS , BAFFLED IN BEULAH. 701-873-5692 wildrose@btinet.net
