Short to frame.

I have a 1993 Mitsu Diamante with a 12VDC short to the frame. Measured from the (-) terminal to the (-) lead. Removing the fuses did not help. Disconnecting all the plug/jacks under the dash did not help. The short is always there with the ignition off. It does not let the car start. Any clues will be greatly appreciated!

Thats exactly what you should have at those points.

Maybe a little history as what has occured.

Maybe your talking about a battery draw, not a short. If your pulling fuses to find a draw, your first need to expire all the timers, keep the doors closed, disable the hood light and take the keys out of the ignition.

Switching to the amps function would help find a draw also. What are you trying to figure out?If it won't crank do you have power and ground at the starter and a crank signal requested?
