air conditioning maintenance

Hi - I've always heard that it's good to run your air conditioner a little bit now and then, all year long to keep seals lubricated.

In the winter time, does using the air conditioning as a heater count in keeping all of the seals lubricated?

Thanks

Defrost uses the A/C

When you use the DEFROST you operate the A/C system. On Most cars and trucks.

Thanks hogfan! So, do you think using the AC regularly does help keep things lubricated? If so, do you think using the defroster once a week is good enough?

But doesen't the AC compressor not engage below certain ambient temperatures? So don't you need to try to do this on warmer days so the compressor will run?
