Stuck Fuel Door

Hey...I'm having trouble opening the fuel door to my 93 Honda Accord. I tried lifting the lever, and it won't open. Is there any other alternative way to open the fuel door? Please help...my tank is running on empty. Thanks

There should be a strap in the trunk near the fuel door you can pull. It may be under the trunk liner.

You can take the plastic housing off the release lever and see if anything is stuck in there or of the cable is broken there.
