Errant odometer

Is it possible for a digital odometer to be out of calibration. If so, what can I do about it? I have a 2002 KIA Sedona and by all "measured kilometers" on the highway my odometer reads .05km more. ie for every 20 km of actual distance the odometer reads 21km. This is the same when compared to other vehicals however the speedometer reads correctly. I took it to the dealer and they basically called me a liar, (they contributed it to the tires being over inflated). By my calculations, my 100 000km warranty will expire at approx 95 000 km

in the states...

...speedometer/odometer calibration has a plus or minus margin of error. as long as it's in the window, it's legal and reasonable. i think you are being too picky.

carguyinva is right, there is an allowable margin of error, however I'm not sure that 5% is within the margin. Also since you're discussing kilometes I'm guessing you're in Canada, whose laws on some things automotive are stricter than those in the USA. I'd contact your province automotive safety/inspections office and ask them for the definitive answer.

Good luck

What are you measuring against? You can't really reference the highway markers, they are not exactly perfect. You can try to try a set distance with 2 cars, and see what their trip odometers say.
