97 Ford Aerostar

I have a 97 Ford Aerostar Van. The problem I am encountering is the Daytime running lights won't shut off when the van is shut off. The only way to shut them off is disconnect the battery. Any ideas where the problem lies?

DRL(daytime running lamps) Control Module?

With the ignition switch OFF, check for voltage to pin 3 (purple/orange) at the DRL module. Which is located next to the starter solenoid under the hood. Did the test lamp illuminate (yes or no) if NO replace the DRL module control. If YES remove fuse #5 check voltage again at pin 3 at DRL module did test lamp illuminate (yes or no)YES check circuit (purple/orange) NO check ignition switch.

Drl

Thanks Hogfan

The problem was with the DRL module. I was scratching my head there as I couldn't find any info in my Chilton repair manual on the Aerostar.
