No Oil Pressure on Gauge

1993 Plymouth Grand voyager. 140,000 miles. Everything I thought was fine and I just changed my own oil and filter and went to start it up the oil pressure does not register anything.

Did I do something wrong or is it just a coincidence that it doesn't show any pressure.

Also could this just be in the gauge? I did check the oil level and it is full.

Thanks for any advice.

Harlan

Maybe you knocked the wire off the sender.

Short of that a mechanical gauge would have to be hooked up to verify oil pressure.

Would the wire from the sensor be located near the oil filter or is up more in the engine compartment?

I agree with Toyotaman also.. I might add that you make sure the wire is making good contact. Iv'e had a couple that didn't register till i cleaned up the connector at the sender.

I think on that engine the oil pressure sender is next to the oil filter.

Thanks

Thanks everyone. It was the oil sensor which was next to the oil filter. I needed to replace it and all works OK.

Thanks again.
