over heating

I was on may home from work when i noticed my temp gague was reading high so I turn on heat full blast slowed downed a bit and it went down I changed my thermostat (stock one 190) the next day it was fine but I notice if I drive my truck hard the temp starts to go up but if I slow down and turn my heat on full it goes back down but not to nom. it satys kinda high. I checked coolant its good and the thromstat was put in right. I haven't seen any leaks I did buy a new water pump but I havnt put it on yet. Any help would be great thank you Ron B oh and by the way I have an 91 Rodeo

It could be simple as New Radiator Cap or Radiator flush or new Radiator if it's old.
