OBDII code 0452
1998 GMC sierra 4.3 vortec 267000mi.
for the last three weeks trouble code 0452 has been popping out.
I was told to replace the gas cap and see if that solved the problem.
I relaced it and it didn`t do any good. Does anyone no what couses this
code and how to fix it.

Check the wires between the pcm and the fuel tank pressure sensor. At the sensor with it disconnected (key on) you should have ground on the black wire and 5 volts on the gray wire.Do you have access to a scan tool?

The only symptom of a P0452 is the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light being on.It is a code for an electrical circuit malfunction in the EVAP diagnostic system. The truck will run fine forever with that code.

Thank you for your help guys, Davo was right.
I traced the wire and found that in passed somebody had probed 5 wires
of the wire harness near the fuel filter and didn`t seal it back up. Being in Michigan, guess the salt worked its way in and corroded trhe wires.I cut the wires to where they were clean and added a new one. That solved my problem. Thanks again Davo.
