"96 Monte Carlo pwr window inop

The driver's window was intermittant for a few weeks and now it's dead.

Checked switch and harness, voltage is good.

I want to check for regulator bindage and a bad motor. The Haynes manual describes glass removal, etc.

Can I remove the motor and check for regulator binding without drilling rivets and messing with the assy inside the door? I'm assuming that the window will drop after pulling the motor.

Does anyone know how many ohms I shrould read on the motor?

Thanks for the help!

Save yourself the testing time and just replace the motor. They are a weak link in the door assy. and they tend to work then not

Great advice!

Removed the motor, window track was not binding and replaced the motor.

Great forum!
