oil sysmte flush

oil sysmte flush

what woudl be the steps to flush out the oil and cahnge it on an 88 celica? would i just preform an oil change, or do i have to open the engine and clean out any oil that has clumped into goo. the car hasnt been started for 5 years

drain old stuff

Here is what I would do drain old oil and change filter.Put in new oil and filter run for about 100 or so miles and repeat.Look at the oil and see how it looks at this point it should still look new.

That would be the proper way, but I'd try michael van's way first
And maybe take off the valve cover(s) and peek in
See if it's totally crudded up, crusty or what

If you think the oil clumped into goo from sitting for 5 years it didn't.Start the engine,run to operating temp and turn the engine off and change the oil.You should be ok I would be more worried about the gasoline in the tank myself and not the engine oil.The brake lines,pads,shoes,potors,drums and fuel lines also come to mind after sitting for 5 years.
