cleaning stone

I want to apply a lacquer sealer to some stones and rocks. How should I prepare/clean the stones before I do this?

Head lights are too dim. Checked the charging system and it's charging & battery holds 12.3v charge. Any advise on what to check next? Thanks

12.3 volts with the lights on? or off? This is not enough voltage. You should have at least 13.8 volts with loads on (headlamps, heater blower motor, radio). And at least the same or more with no loads. Check your alternator output. Put the red lead of your DVOM on the large lug on the alternator and the black lead on the negative post of your battery (with the car running) and see what the voltage there is. If it is low there, then you likely have an alternator problem.
Hope this helps ya,
Billy
