RPM Gauge

i was just woundering how hard would it be to hook up a rpm gauge in my 1990 Chevy Astro

Hey there. Pretty straight forward procedure. Most of the tachs I've hooked up have 4 wires,power,ground,tach signal,dashlights. The distributer cap even has a spot marked tach. Once you hook up the wires,there should be a switch on the back of the tach marked 4-6-8. Just make sure you have it switched to match the number of cylinders in your van.

thanks, what if my distributer cap doesnt have a place for the tach is there another place i can hook it up to?

My mistake. I was thinking that your van had the older style cap(large one). I'm not exactly sure now but I "think" that it's the white wire on the distributer. I'll chech into it but maybe someone here knows for sure.
