RPMS and Auto Trans

I have a 1998 Ford Tuarus with 63,000 miles. 3.0 V6, Auto Trans. With car in gear driving down the road, and going from no throttle to little throttle (<25%), the RPMs will move up with throttle and immediatly drop around 200-500 RPM. It is not a shift in the tranny either.

The drop is annoying when just lightly accelerating. Is this normal?

AutoFluid has been changed.

Sounds like the torque convertor clutch is operating as designed. Can you feel it or are you watching the tach to see the engagement?

Not feeling it. Just seeing it in the tach and can the exhaust tone drop obviously.

It doesn't appear to be out of the ordinary, just not something I was not used too.

Been driving manual trans for as long as I can remember.

Thanks for the feedback!
