Chev. Turbo 350 leak

My turbo 350 is leaking around the shaft that the shift linkage attaches to. Is this a repair I can do myself? Is it an o-ring? Do I have to take the Pan off. I also seem to be getting a little leakage around the backup light swith. I was told I had to take the valve body out to replace the gasket. Is that very complicated. Thanks, David

On the shifter shaft seal, you can do it if you have a correct tool set for the job, one puller and other is installer, just remove the nut that holding the linkage at the shaft and pull the linkage out, you can do it without those special tool but be VERY CAREFUL not to damage the seal housing or you are talking about big bucks, very BIG bucks.

Back up light switch, just unscrew it and replace with new one without remove the trans pan.
