Throttle sticks, revving high

I posted this a while back, but now I have more detailed info.

2000 Mercury Sable 24v.

When starting from a stop and you give it gas as if you were pulling out into traffic it seems as if the throttle sticks. The RPMs read 2000-2500 when in gear, when in nuetral the RPMs are 4000. The car just starts to take off.

If you slowly start out there are no problems.

Maybe a month ago when this happened, I could floor it and it would be ok, but now I must shutoff the car for at least 5sec. and then its good.
This makes me think it maybe computer related.

I thought that it might be the adjustable pedals but I moved them and it still happens.

Mercury has heard of no such problems in the past (Dealer Mechanic called Mercury) these guys are $86hr to test drive my car and guess what? no trouble found

Any advice would be much appreciated Also any Mechanic referrals in Chicago southwest suburbs Joliet, or northwest Schaumburg or where ever else in Illinois.

Before you traded it in, try the Auto Idle Control (AIC) motor first and see if it help!.

It's easy to place but may need some special tools (Hex tips), usually it's locates near or on top of throttle body where the air duct from air filter to other end.
