All kinds of troubles

94 Safari Van
Shortly after paying a 1700.00 bill for an overhaul to say the least. While driving a squeaking noise from under the hood could heard a mile away, only to disappear and return upon Idling did I forget to mention that the van stalls when warm and in idle also, anyway while proceeding from red to green light a big bang from the rear of the van, I could not steer the vehicle and no brakes, did I mention that it also overheated. Please help, I think the last mechanic took me for a sucker, and it would help if this time I could at least have a few possiabilities what it maybe. Thank you from Pjk.

pulley

from what it sounds like is a pulley making the noise. The big bang might have been your belt breaking there fore you lost your steering.
Get under the hood and see if the belt is ok.

Good luck should be a easy fix unless you overheated engine too much
