Engine light to remains on.. Please Help

Two days ago, my 1998 Chevrolet Malibu was towed for parking at a bus stop. After picking up my car from the impound lot, I noticed the engine light remained on. I checked my oil and battery connection and the oil level and connection was fine, but the light remains. The car starts and runs with seemingly no problem.

Do you have any idea or suggestions as to what would cause the engine light to remain on?

Thank You.

Your gonna have to take your car to a dealer or shop and have a technician connect a scan tool to see what DTC had set. Then he can diagnose the problem and give you an estimate of the repair.

The light could have come on for a number of reasons. Without a specific DTC, there is no info that can be given. You have a choice of having them diagnose and repair it, or post the DTC here and we can guide you through it.

Try to take it to an auto parts shop that scans the codes for free. I think autozone does.
