Coolant leak

I have a Chevy Cheyenne 1500 P/U 1996 130K 6 cyl. auto. This AM I noticed a puddle of coolant under the truck. When jacked up I found it was coming from the inside the flywheel housing and around the starter. I tried to trace it back to the engine but found nothing. Not from heater core,or hoses. I have never seen this. I am concerned this is major. Any ideas ????

If you cant find that it is coming from above then it is likely coming from a freeze plug that has gone bad in the back of the block. Are you in a very cold climate? Have you had the coolant system serviced?

The corners of the intake gasket around the coolant passages are a known to crack and cause coolant to drip down to that area as well.
