Own a FORD Help!!

I have a 1998 Ford Contour 2.0 Liter, dual overhead cams, automatic transmission.

When turning on the AC it only blows from the defrost, no matter what position the dial is in weather, its set on panel, panel, foot, foot, whatever, it will not switch it to any other porton of the panel or foot cluster.

I did check all of the fuses and underneath to see if any of the connections have becoame loose, and still no luck. The blower, works just fine.

Any Suggestions from Anyone???

Thanks,
Bill...with dire need of AC Panel in Florida!

check the vacum lines under the hood for being disconnected or broken.

Look for a small black plastic line going thru the firewall. Make sure the line is not cut anywhere. This is the hose that feeds the mode switch. Like bejay said it has a vacuum leak.
