2000 Astro Hesitates While Cruising

My Astro with 80,000 km has developed an intermittent hesitation when highway cruising. It starts and runs fine otherwise. Occasionally, about once or twice in an hour of cruising, it will seem to cut out on the highway but only for a second or so and then continues to cruise along fine. I wonder if this is tranny slippage or an electrical problem. It jerks the driveline and then continues to run fine. I'm thinking about taking it in to a dealer but wonder if the problem can be diagnosed as it is so intermittent! Has anyone had this kind of problem?

Hesitation

The problem was solved with a good tune-up! It now runs great!

I was going to say, you are describing a secondary ignition failure. (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil)
Hopefully you put original equipment parts on it.........
