94 Suburban 1500 4X4 trailer brakes

A good friend of mine bought a dump trailer. Before he bought it he said I could use it as much as I wanted. After he bought it I didn't ask to use it for awhile so not to take advantage. I asked him the other day and he asked if I had trailer brakes, that it required trailer brakes to use. I do not, but I really have some projects that would be considerably cheaper if I did the hauling myself. How hard is it for a do it yourselfer to install the brakes. I have seen on ebay that I can get the control boxs for ~40 dollars. Also any links on how to install would be helpful.

The break controller is not relay a big deal to put in. Usually they only have 4 wires to connect. 2 of the wires are power. 1 wire connects to your break light switch. The last wire is the hardest one it runs from the break controller to the trailer. This means finding a safe route usually under the vehicle. I personally run them in the frame channel.
Good Luck
P.S. don't buy a cheap controller 20 or 30 bucks more wont seem like that much when you can't stop and burn up the vehicle breaks.
