any one have ideas on how to locate a vacuum leak to transmission i have a 1990 d-150 2wd w/3.9lL 6 cylinder i am having trouble w/hard shifts feels like a vacuum problem any ideas?

I don't think you have any vacuum hose to your tranny like the one on Ford has, you may look at the throttle cable/linkage at the throttle body and make adjustment if necessary.

I agree, dodge doesnt use vacuum. check cable or linkage. if its a cable, you can push in a square botton right where the cable mounts on engine, and slide the cable in and out. I think the linkage might be threaded.

thanks again as it turns out the throttle linkage eas hanging up not allowing the trans to shift properly.
