Toyman Q

Since you're here.....

Is static in the radio on a Camry a common problem when using rear window defog (antenna in the window)? And is there any cure?

Measure it with a micrometer; cut it with an ax.

Negative. Standard window w/defog and integrated antenna. No tint.

I have seen where too much urethane is used (what holds the rear glass in) and it touches the window grid. It makes a sort of connection to the body causing the interference in the radio when defog is on.

Okay. Not going to lose much sleep over it. Don't need the defog that often and then only for short periods. It's an '01 w/less than 30k miles and in pristine condition that I picked up (stole!) for just over $9000, so I'm not going to sweat something that minor.
