1995 f-150 freeze plugs

How do you replace a freeze plug on a 1995 ford F-150 4.9 6 cly engine,
is there a special way to remove them?
thanks for any help.

Hit with a blunt punch on one side. Knock it in and it should rotate 90 degrees then you can pull it out with some channel lock pliers.

If you can knock the new one straight in, clean the hole and use some sealer.

If you cant hit the new one in straight you can use an expandable type & follow the directions. Do not use sealer if you use a rubber type.
