120k mile service

I have a '97 Honda Accord with 120k miles on it. It had the water pump and timing belts changed at 90k. Is the 120k mile service worth getting??

In my opinion, yes. But what does your 120k maintenance include?

When I worked at a Honda Dealership ('88-'98) our 120k mantenance included a 131 point check list, plus LOF, Major tune-up (plugs, fuel filter, cap, rotor, wires & check/adjust valve lash), Transmission service, Check/lube brakes & calipers & Cooling system service.

Since the water pump was changed @90k you don't need the cooling system serviced, but I would do the rest of the 120k service. The Check/Adjust Valve Lash is a little technical & the fuel filter is a pain to do*! The rest of the items are easy DIY projects.

FYI; I believe the Fuel Filter on the '97 Accord, located on the firewall below the brake booster, is considered a lifetime componant, but we did them @120k mile maintenance.

That's my 2 cents worth,
