93 S-10 won't start/ignition module

175000 miles, I have to replace the ignition module about once every 2 weeks. Have tried both types, same result. Works great, does not miss a beat for about 7-10 days. It then turns, but does not start. I disconnect the module and let the truck sit for about 15 minutes than it starts back up...sometimes. Sometimes it takes hours, but it will eventually start again. Replace the module, good to go for another 7-10 days. I am on my 4th or 5th module right now. VIN # 1gccs1424p8106162. Thanks in advance for any advice!

if the vehicle has a distributer probably should replace the pickup assembly.
if it is distributerless try a crank sensor.
what do you mean you tried both types?

thanks for the ideal. the parts store said that there were 2 different types according to the VIN number. they look the same but are priced differently.. go figure
