A/C Valve Problem

Year: 1992
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Cavalier
Engine Size: 2.2L

While refilling my car with freon, the R-134 valve crossthreaded onto the R-12 valve. Now the R-12 valve is constantly leaking freon back out. What parts do I need to replace and fix this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

if the threads are damaged you will have to replace whatever part where the fitting is at and install a new adapter the fittings are usualy located on a line or accumulator you just need to determine which line or component you need by finding out of its high side or low side.
there is different adapters some have their own schrader valve which requires the removal of the original r12 fittings schrader valve, and some adapters uses the original r12 fittings schrader valve as they do not have a schrader valve in them.
