I need help!! (Pontiac Bonneville 1999 Engine Stops)

I have a pontiac bonneville 1999, and I'm having a problem with it, when I drive it for a while, almost in every stop that I make it turns off, I don't have trouble to start it again, but the next stop and goes off again, the engine light caame on, I scaned it and the code that it gave me was P0102 , please I need some advice what to do. Thank you for your help in advance.

if you still need to drive it, try shifting into neutral before you have to stop and keep your rpms up.

Is the A/C on or off? Or does A/C have no effect?

The air filter is in good condition, concerning the A/C It doesn't seem to make any difference.

I assume that you are refering to the mass air flow sensor. First check the fuse. It should be in one of the under hood fuse / relay centers.
Second, clear the codes and then start and idle the engine for several minutes. If the code resets, replace the MAF sensor. If your ignition wires or plugs have been recently replaced, check to see that the high voltage wires are clear of the MAF wiring harness as they could cause an intermittent code.

The fuse locations are probably labeled on the underside of the fuse box cover.
The fat wires between the coil packs and spark plugs are the ignition (high voltage) wires.

help

I check the fuses and all are good, cheched the wires and they seem ok. So you think I have to change the sensor?, I'm afraid that if I change it and that's not the problem i'm going to waste $300.00 for nothing. What do you think?

You can check Auto Zone's site. They have a trouble shooting section which may give you more insight. Beyond that, you may want to have a dealer or
independent garage do a diagnostic check. It will cost a bit but should pinpoint the problem. Then you can decide whether to have the work done or do it yourself. As has been said, the only sure things are taxes and death. Good luck.
