Engine Light

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram truck with a 4.7l engine. The engine light came on, so a friend has a scanner to scan the code connects & retrieves a code regarding the exhaust valve solenoid. It also gave reference to emissions & the catlitic converter.

Any ideas what needs changed. I changed the oil, air breather & PCV valve but it's still on.

Does it have an exhaust valve solenoid & where is it located?

It would help if you posted the actual codes you retrieved.

Sounds like EGR maybe, but as 'nut says, easier to address with the codes. The items you did already couldn't hurt, but none of them would be associated with a check engine light.
