A/C not coming on

I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy. I'm pretty sure the system is charged. It worked last season. I'm noticing though that when I turn on the A/C, the clutch on the compressor isn't moving. Could it be low on refrigerant? Or is it an electrical problem. I checked the fuse and it's ok. I was thinking of getting a can of Freeze 12 and adding it to see if it kicked on.
Any Suggestions?

Bad move

Put a set of gauges on and see what the pressures are.

A quick check could be to bypass the low pressure switch for just 1 second. If the compressor kicks in, then you are low on refrigerent. Don't run the compressor with the switch bypassed or you will be buying a new compressor and $60 belt.

The most likely cause of your ac not working is that you have lost freon coming out from your compressor. If your compressor looks all wet and oily you have found your prob.
