97 Caviler no pulse to injector,or fire

I put an engine in a 1997 Caviler last week for a friend and it wont crank. It`s a 2.2 4speed auto. I have checked all of my connections and ground wires and everything is ok.I dont understand the fact that i dont have any voltage going to or from the crankshaft sensor. If i understand iam supposed to have about 5-8 volts going to it but i dont. Could this be the PCM?
Any help appreciated plzzzzzzzzz. Oh yeah I have checked all fuses And have no codes.

the crank sensor produces its own a/c voltage signal and it will not have any voltage at the connector it should produce a signal while cranking you can test with a voltmeter or a lab scope, have you checked for power and ground at the ignition module?
a bad module or a bad crank sensor could cause the no fire, no injector pulse but if the engine came from a running vehicle it is probably a wiring related issue and you should recheck everything.
