Cylinder misfires

Saturn 97SL2- 87K miles

OBDII Scanner was reading "Cylinder 1 misfire", but erased by itself. Now reading "Cylinder 2 misfire". Any ideas on what this means? and what can be done to fix it? Appreciate any assistance. Thank you.

was it actually misfiring, or was it just saying that. if it was, it might be the coil pack.

It could also be the fuel injectors. On GM vehicles, we flush the fuel injectors when we determine the injectors are at fault. I believe there is a TSB for it also.
And is this miss very noticable?

My 97 Lumina had random rough idle on start-up and set misfire codes on random cylinders. It only happened on start-up and never started when the engine was running normally. It happened maybe 1 in 20 stars and I spent 6 weeks pulling, inspecting and swapping plugs, wires and coil packs.

I read on this site to add 2 bottles of injector cleaner to the tank. I did not believe it, but I tried it anyway and have not had the problem since.

I hope your problem is this easy.
