98' Mitsubishi Eclipse

PLEASE HELP ME!! Whenever my car is at a complete stop (but is still running), the temperature rises to hot like it is over heating. It cools back down to normal when I start moving again. What could it possibly be??

It could be a radiator fan that is not operating. If it's not operating when the engine is warm or hot, start by checking the fan fuse.

I agree about the fan too.

Another thing to check is simply the radiator coolent level. With a cold engine, remove cap and peek inside.

A sometimes quick check of the radiator fan motor is to turn on the A/C, and look at the fan..Does it come on, and does the car run cooler?

And you need to find out the problem and get it remedied ASAP, Blondie, before you get into more serious stuff like a blown head gasket.
