95 Ram Van Wheel Bearing Question

Hi, If I change the front rotors on my dodge ram van 3500 1 ton , does that mean the inner wheel bearings have to be pressed into the inside of the new rotor at a shop or can I do this myself. And if I install the inner bearings wrong can I get them back out to replace them? thanks.

The bearings are held in only by the axle seal. The race (what the bearing rides on) will come already pressed into the rotor. Hard to install wrong since they are tapered and the inner and outer are different sizes. The axle nut must be torqued correctly, which is something like 300 ft/lbs, then off a half turn . . . I am not exactly sure so I won't guess. But you will need a proper spec and a torque wrench.

So, as I understand it, the inner bearing already is on the spindle being held there by the axle seal. then it is only the race that comes with the new rotors. Does it make sense to change out the inner bearings (along with the outer) when changing the rotors?
thanks.
