dex-cool

Is crud buildup at the radiator neck a common problem with dex-cool,how serious is it I've heard that it can damage your heater core and engine?

Crud build up at the filler neck is normal for dex-cool. I believe it has to do with how it reacts to air since it also tends to be found around hose clamps. As far as I have seen it doesn't move throughout the system, so as long as the fluid itself looks good I wouldn't worry.
