Replacing AC system for a 95 Dodge Ram 2500 V10

I have to replace an ac system for my Ram truck. The compressor siezed and snapped the serpentine belt. I know I need the compressor and accumulator. The question is what is and do I need a dryer and condenser? Can someone explain to me the componets of the ac system? I've heard several different versions. Thanks, Tim

the drier and accumulator are the same thing. the condensor is the grid in front of your radiator, where the freon condenses. you shouldn't need a new one, although i would recommend flushing it. you should change your orfice tube as well.

heres a site that shows the basic principles of ac

You should only need to buy a compressor and a filter/drier (GM part verses what Ford refers to as a accumulator). Fords and GM designs differ slightly.

You also need;
to buy a orifice valve (a small valve mounted inside one of the lines.)
to buy various o-rings, to replace all your old o-rings in the lines and fittings. Take the old o-rings with you to match up the sizes.
to flush out the lines, condenser and evaporator after the unit is opened.
