98 silverado front end problem

98 silverado front end problem

this truck ha 310,00 miles recently had tires put on and was told needed idler arm, pitman arm and wheel bearing hub assembly on pass. side. does anybody know how much knowledge is involved in replaceing these parts i can turn a wrench a little but not a lot of experience with this kind job. was told bearing assembly alone was 450.00 for4 them to do called advance and found part for 130.00 i would like to think i could do this myself. any advice appericiated ty sledge.

Assuming it's a 4x4, the hub assembly is an easy operation - bolt in. The idler arm and pitman arm will both require some special tools; a pickle fork to seperate the ball stud ends from the center link, and you'll also need a pitman arm puller for the gear box end.

thanks for info i think i am going to attempt to do it myself and save around 300.00 been a good truck i was suprised that thier wasnt more problems with front end with that many miles. ty for info
