Pathfinder A/C problems

The A/C in my 95 Pathfinder does not seem to cool very well when the outside air temperature is above 75F and there is any humidity. I had the compressor replaced around 70K miles, about 3 years ago, and it now has about 116K miles on it.

I have tried all 3 air sources: outside air, mixture of outside/inside, and inside (recirc). The coolest is inside, but it is barely cooler than outside air. The others have almost no cool air. It is working because I can see the compressor clutch engage, and it doesn't appear to be slipping. Also, there is telltale water condensate dripping under the car.

It scheduled for A/C service on Thursday, but was hoping someone can give me some things to try before then. Thanks.

I need to bump this to see if there is any advice on what to try before I drop the car off on Thursday morning. Thanks.

Sounds like you did the right thing with the appointment. It could simply be low on refrigerent.

Chances are good that the shop will evacuate and charge the system for around $100. They will test for leaks but "won't find any". Still, $100 will get it going again.
