1997 Explorer a/c problem
Sorry, been to the hospital since last post. Problem is this: my a/c will only work on "max air". Changed the heater valve, no effect; checked fuses, no effect. Any other thoughts?

Please clarify. "max air" is nearly always a symtom of a bad resistor stack found in the engine compartmen on your model. Dealer part, DIY repair. No sweat, 10 min.

1997 Ford Explorer a/c problem
What I meant by "Max air" is that my a/c will only blow out cold air when I have the control in the "Max air" position. If I move the control to "normal" the unit blows out "hot" air. I removed the glove compartment and observed that when the unit was on max air I could see the fan and feel cold air, then when I changed it to normal the fan door closed and the hot air started. By the way, where is this " Resistor stack" located in the engine compartment? Thanks for your input.
