1994 Escort transaxle

Has any one swapped out the transaxle in 94 escort?
I assume I have to pull front wheel, brakes, and then axles.
Then can remove trans.

nope not yet still got a long ways to go, starter, torqueconverter bolts, shifter cable, bell housing bolts, cooler lines, any wiring , and not sure about that application but will have to hang the engine and may have to remove the sub frame.Still not that bad a job for the do it yourselfer. Just keep your bolts in order. When going back make sure the converter is all the way in the tranny and the studs line-up with the holes in the flywheel. And dont forgett the most important thing. FLUSH OUT THE TRANNY LINES GOING TO RADIATOR. VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

You shouldn't have to remove the brakes..Remove the wheels, of course, seperate the lower ball joints, then remove the axles.. Should be more than enough clearance to remove the axles this way..(the less you have to take apart, the less you have to re-assemble!)
And as Rob said, flush the cooler lines!
