Is the Master Cylinder supposed to squirt brake fluid upward with cover removed?

96 Suburban 1500. When the brake pedal is pushed in, with the MC cover removed, the fluid squirts up from the primary enough to clear the resevoir. I assumed it was the bad MC, but the refurb one does it also while pre-bleeding it. opinions anybody?

Yes,that is why you loosely set the top of it on to prevent pouring out. I always bled each wheel cylinder also, while keeping the master cyl. full.
