brake replace

I have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8L and need to replace the brakes because they are squealing. What do I need to know to do the job?

Go to the local parts store and get a book. Haynes or chilton's is the most common. Rotors of choice for me are raybestos the premium, or brembo oem style. Brake pad of choice is 1st akebono, 2nd wagner for ceramic. Or raybestos for semi-metallic. Experience says stay away from raybestos ceramic. 9 times out of 10 they usually squeek or crack.

I would rather you have a book with pics, than to just read the procedure off the internet. When you probably don't know the names of the part we would list. For say caliper mounting bolt, sliding pins.

Use silicone brake lube to on the pins.
