01 Camry Battery Hook Up Wrong - Electrical System Blown - Help!
A friend of mine installed a new battery with the positive cable attached to the negative cable. Reinstalled the correct way and I replaced some of the smaller blown fuses. Car will start, headlights work, but electrical system in car (windows, locks, clock, instrument panel, radio, AC, etc.) is shot. It is a 2001 Toyota Camry with automatic transmission and car will not go into gear. Local auto shop says to bring car to them so they can run diagnostics on car. Can't get car into gear. Could this be something so simple as one of the larger fuses being blown? Help!

man hooking up the battery backwards is the worst kinda mess to clean up, fuses protect against over current, and not reverse polarity.
what i woudl do is use the shifter interlock bypass to get the shifter to neutral, start her up and take her to the shop to have diagnosed. there's usally a hole aroudn the shifter console for you to stick a key in and when you press down it unlocks the shifter.
that is after you look through every single fuse and make sure none's blown. hopefully you overlooked a simple fuse.
