in pan oil filter

I am guessing you may have an in pan oil filter. It would be a large circular "cover" on the oil pan. If you do you would want to drain it from there as well as install the oil filter there. The filter (if you have it already) would not have a metal cover like a normal filter, rather it would look like a paper element. If memory serves me the size of the socket to remove this a 15mm but it has been a while. Capacity with a filter change should be 3.5 quarts. Hope this helps.

Jaws is correct.. Some 2.5's do have a drain plug right beside the oil filter "cover"..Others just have the oil filter..Seems to me, that the center "nut" of the filter cover is 7/8ths? And the oil filter, once the cover is off, will have to be pulled out of the oil pan.. It will not just fall out on it's own..
